Your bakery display case is more than just a container—it’s part of the customer experience. Whether you’re showcasing flaky croissants or banana bread, keeping your display clean and clear helps your baked goods stand out all day.
1. Don’t Use It for Hot or Heated Food
Our bakery display cases are made for dry, room-temperature baked goods, like pastries, cookies, bagels, or sandwiches. They’re not designed to retain heat or safely hold food that’s fresh from the oven or warming tray.
Why this matters:
-
Acrylic warps with heat: Exposure to hot items can cause the clear acrylic to bow or become cloudy over time.
-
Condensation & hygiene: Hot food inside an enclosed cabinet can cause steam to build up, leading to moisture, condensation, and a higher risk of mould or bacterial growth.
-
It’s not a food warmer: The case is made for display, not for temperature control—so food won’t stay hot and may end up less appealing.
Tip: Let items cool to room temperature before placing them inside.
2. Clean the Acrylic Panels Gently
Acrylic is lightweight and crystal-clear—perfect for showing off your goods—but it does need a bit of extra care to avoid scratches and cloudiness.
Here’s what we recommend:
-
Use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe down the panels.
-
Avoid harsh chemicals—stick to a mild dish soap and warm water solution.
-
Never use glass cleaner or anything with ammonia, as it can damage the surface.
-
For tougher spots, use a plastic-safe cleaner made for acrylic.
Tip: Always blot dry rather than rubbing to prevent micro-scratches.
3. Keep Crumbs Out of the Grooves
Crumbs are inevitable, but letting them build up in the corners or grooves of the frame can quickly make your display look untidy.
To avoid this:
-
Wipe the base and corners down at the end of each day.
-
Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove trapped crumbs.
-
If the design allows, remove the panels weekly for a more thorough clean.
4. General Tips & Tricks for Long-Term Care
-
Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged UV exposure can slightly yellow acrylic over time.
-
Use food-safe cleaning products: Anything that touches the inside of the display should be safe for food contact.
-
Handle with care: Even though our cases are built to last, gentle handling helps extend their life.
-
Wipe fingerprints often: Acrylic shows smudges easily, so a daily polish goes a long way.
A clean, well-maintained display not only looks good—it shows your customers that you care about quality and detail. Just remember: no hot food, no harsh cleaners, and a regular wipe-down with a microfiber cloth is all it takes to keep your case looking like new.
