So you’ve bought an epic sign and you need your branding to be printed on the display board. Here are a few pointers to help:

We recommend using a commonly used high-tack vinyl, we find the following vinyl types work well and most good sign-writers should stock them in a range of colours. 

Have your sign-writer test their vinyl sticker first to ensure that there is a strong bond on your sign or menu display, as the adhesive may be more or less effective depending on different surfaces. We'd also recommend that your vinyl sticker is no less than 0.2mm thick.

  • We don’t advise having your entire sign covered with one complete vinyl sticker. To give you a good idea of how your vinyl decal should be cut, have a watch of the video below and share it with your vinyl artist:


    Applying Vinyl Yourself:

    Applying vinyl decals to signs is usually very straightforward with the right approach. If you’re new to this, consider watching tutorial videos or hiring a sign-writer if you don't feel comfortable. Here's a guide to help you DIY:

    1. Prepare Your Materials: Gather the necessary supplies and organise your vinyl decal for easy handling.
    2. Clean the Surface: Ensure the sign surface is clean, dry, smooth, and free of dust for optimal adhesion.
    3. Remove Backing Tape: Peel off the backing tape, exposing the sticky side of the decal while keeping it attached to the transfer tape.
    4. Position the Decal: Use a ruler to measure and mark the perfect placement. Apply the decal slowly, starting from one edge, to avoid wrinkles and air bubbles.
    5. Press Firmly: Rub the decal firmly onto the surface to secure it and remove any remaining air pockets.
    6. Remove Transfer Tape: Carefully peel away the transfer tape to reveal your perfectly applied vinyl decal!
